Borges Cultural Center

Cultural Centers — By

There are many great cultural centres in Buenos Aires, and the Centro Cultural Borges is one of the best when it comes to mainstream art and theatre.  They have a number of different rooms for displaying visual art, and at any one time, you will find they have at least a few different exhibits going on.   Most are temporary, but there is a permanent exhibit known as the Borges Space, dedicated to the famous Argentine author.  The exhibit is made up of photographs, texts, drawings, and poems, revealing the distinct periods of Borges’ life. The temporary exhibits are almost always good, and worth a visit whenever a new one is on.

In addition to art, there are also various theatrical productions that you can see at the center.  These shows vary anywhere from theatre to music to dancing, and often revolve around Tango.

If you are interested in learning more about art through courses, this cultural center has one of the large selections of courses and workshop offered to the public.  They have workshops on theatre, art, dancing, cinema, and literature among others.

A list of these workshops, as well as the current exhibitions on display, can be found at http://www.ccborges.org.ar/ It is located attached to the Galerias Pacificas, right in the microcentro of Buenos Aires.
