Steve McCurry Photo Exhibit
Random Reviews — By DiegoM on March 26, 2010 at 1:29 amCurrently at the Centro Cultural Borges is an exhibit of 110 photographs by the world renowned photographer Steve McCrurry. If this name does not ring a bell, you will probably recognize some of his photographs. The most famous, titled “Afghan girl” appeared in National Geographic in 1984. This photograph, and many others are viewable at the exhibit.
If you have even a slight interest in photography, travel, international politics, or just want to see some amazing art, you can´t miss this. At only $10 pesos, this is the best bargain you will find at the moment in Buenos Aires.
The exhibit is made up of 110 photographs, all of which have been blown up to fairly large sizes. Many paintings are portraits, and those which aren´t, always have people in them. You will find that Steve McCurry’s photos are remarkable in many ways. Simple things such as the use of color and contrast are excellent and at times unbelievable. However, what really amazed me were the emotions that Steve McCurry captures with each individual painting. Happiness, tranquility, sadness, hardship, wisdom, laughter – the list goes on, and often times you feel a mix of these emotions.
This exhibit is only on until April 14th, 2010. It is open Mon-Sat. 10h – 21h, and Sun 12h – 21h. For more information, visit http://www.ccborges.org.ar
