Argentina´s Bicentario during May 25th Holiday

This weekend marks the beginning of the celebrations for the Bicentario. All events take place near Plaza de Mayo and in the Paseo del Bicentario, which is located on 9 de Julio between Belgrano and Corrientes. Some of the highlights:

Argentina´s national football club plays their final friendly before heading to the world cup, against the mighty Canadians. The game is being plkayed at River, and will also be projected on large screens.

Various musical and artistic performances by some of Argentina´s most famous figures (Fito Paez, Spinetta, etc).

Lots of parades – one by the Argentine military, a parade of antique cars, a parade including members from dozens of countries, and the Parade of the Biecentario, which is the main event of the 4 day weekend. It will include huge parade that tells the story of Argentina´s 200 year history, and the music and effects are produced by those that do Fuerza Bruta. This is sure to be an event to be remembered.

Feria de las Provincias – booths set up by people from different parts of the country, selling artesan products food typical of the area.
