Hi Freja, not all places are good. There are lots of butchers who serve poor quality meat. The best thing to do is test out different butchers near you. OR, meat at Discos and Jumbos is some of the best you’ll find, if you buy the more expensive line, and even the cheaper line is quite good (Im referring to the packaged meat, you will see they have two major brands that they sell). Finding good organic is much harder unfortunately.

Also, there is a great article here from Yanqui Mike: http://yanquimike.blogspot.com/2009/09/40-of-argentine-beef-already-from.html He writes about how a lot of Argentine meat is no longer grass fed. That doesnt necessarily mean it is bad, but it certainly means the meat has different charactersitics. The top brand from Disco and Jumbo is grass fed, Im not sure about the other one.

Hi,

I am living in BsAs and I just don’t know where to go to buy good quality meat. Is it all good or are there places better than others?
I tried to find organic meat but that seems impossible here.

I would love some tips

Thanks for the information! Buenos Aires has so much to offer. There are plenty of sights, nice arquitecture, history, food and shooping in BA. I have stayed at apartments when visited the city and I can highly recommend http://www.checkin.se/buenosaires, as they have alsways given me ecxellent service.

I’ve never been to the States, maybe you’re right. Only a tip when talking with an argentinian, don’t mention that! we’re really proud of our steak and it would be offensive to mention it
